PDF Scanner & Converter - Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18.07.2026 · Applies to: PDF Scanner & Converter

This Privacy Policy explains what information Image to PDF Converter - PDF Maker ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Summary

The App converts images to PDF and edits PDF files entirely on your device. We do not require an account, we do not operate a server that stores your documents, and we do not collect the content of your images or PDFs. The only data collection in the App comes from the advertising service (Google AdMob) described below.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store the content of any image or PDF you create, import, edit, or view in the App. All image-to-PDF conversion, merging, splitting, compression, and password protection/removal happens locally on your device. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any server we control.

3. Permissions the App Uses

  • Camera - used when you capture a photo directly (outside of Scan) to convert to PDF. Photos are saved to your device; we do not access your camera without your action. Note: the Scan feature uses Google Play services' own document scanning module, which handles its own camera access independently of this permission - see Section 4a.
  • Photos/Media/Storage - to let you select existing images and PDFs, and to save PDFs the App creates. Access is limited to the files you choose (via the system picker) and to the App's own storage area.
  • Notifications - reserved for showing progress on longer background operations.
  • Internet / Network State - required by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to request and display ads.

You can review or change any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings > Apps > Image to PDF Converter > Permissions.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers such as the Advertising ID, IP address, and general usage data to serve and measure ads, and may use this data for ad personalization unless you have limited ad tracking in your device settings. This data collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy:

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings (Settings > Google > Ads on Android, or Settings > Privacy > Ads on iOS-adjacent Google apps).

4a. Document Scanning (Google ML Kit)

The Scan feature uses Google's ML Kit Document Scanner, a module delivered and run via Google Play services. Scanning, edge detection, and image processing happen on-device. This module handles its own camera access (separate from the Camera permission listed above) and does not require this App to request camera permission for scanning to work. Scanned pages are returned directly to the App and are handled the same as any other image you add - see Section 2.

5. Data Storage and Retention

PDFs and images you create or import are stored locally in the App's storage area on your device (and, if you use the Download feature, in your device's public Downloads folder). This data stays on your device until you delete it via the App or your device's file manager, or until you uninstall the App, which removes the App's own storage area.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share the content of your files with anyone. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, described in Section 4, which operates independently under its own privacy policy.

8. Your Choices

  • You can delete any PDF or image at any time from within the App.
  • You can revoke Camera or Storage permissions at any time in system Settings; some features will stop working until re-granted.
  • You can limit ad personalization in your device's ad settings.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all data the App stored on your device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
